Effects of Economic Capital, Cultural Capital and Social Capital on the Educational Expectation of Chinese Migrant Children

Abstract The barrier for Chinese migrant children to receive compulsory education in megacities has been gradually solved recent years. demand senior high school is now the bottom line most of children. Unlike education, China a prerequisite students enter university and can profoundly affect their future decisions. This study aims identify how various dimensions economic, cultural social capital embedded family, peer contexts influence educational expectation results showed that all significantly influenced except family capital. effect objectified appeared be predominant factor. Surprisingly, against original hypothesis, economic embodied negatively expectations.
